Dorset BSF Pathfinder: Queen Elizabeth's School<BR>Client: Dorset District Council, Property Services Department and Mouchel Parkman <BR>

The site has provided major planning challenges as it is within green belt land and alongside a National Trust site. The ancient hill fort of Badbury Rings provided the main inspiration for the landscape design and we have integrated the building into the landscape with three split levels incorporating substantial new planting, including Arts, Food and Science Gardens.

This 1,046 place through-school redefines the traditional primary and secondary organisational model by proposing three phases to bridge the primary and secondary divide. The continuity found in a through-school provides the school with a single coherent identity and provides maximum support for pupils.

This is a new 1420 pupil secondary school on the site of an existing upper school. The aim of the project was to deliver an extended school agenda providing both curricular and extra curricular facilities for the pupils and wider community, with specialisms in Sport, Business and Enterprise.
